Alchemy hosts September student vacation work week

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our third group of law students this year to take part in our annual vacation work programme. This week-long experience is designed to bridge the gap between legal studies and real-world practice.

The four students joined us for an immersive week filled with practical challenges, collaborative learning, and direct exposure to the pace and expectations of life at a dynamic corporate and commercial law firm. Students were tasked with, among other things, drafting a loan agreement, analysing case studies, building legal arguments, and writing client-facing articles. They also participated in lively debates on the application of key current legislation, gaining insights not only from the work itself but also through engaging discussions with our partners and professional staff in different expertise areas.

Our current trainees, Kiara Davey and Boitumelo Monnakgotla mentored the students during the week and also shared with them what they could expect in their first year of internship.

We were impressed by the enthusiasm, critical thinking, and curiosity shown by each participant.

To our visiting students: thank you for bringing your energy, ideas, and fresh perspectives. We wish you every success on your journey to becoming the next generation of legal professionals.
