Major publishable transactions

  • Acting for a major solar powered renewable energy supplier and its investors in respect of its implementation of an employee share ownership scheme in compliance with conditions imposed by the competition authorities pursuant to a merger.
  • Advised Aveng Africa Proprietary Limited on the sale of its Trident Steel business to Trident Steel Africa Proprietary Limited, a special purpose vehicle established by a group of investors.
  • Advising a prominent private equity investment fund in respect of various acquisitions in the renewable energy sector, including in respect of its first investment in the renewable energy sector outside of renewable energy projects operating under REIPPPP.
  • Advising Bidvest Automotive in respect of its strategic expansion through the acquisition of a major testing services provider.
  • Advising energy suppliers in respect of the recently published block exemptions published by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition to address the South African energy crisis.
  • Advising Southern Point Resources and Bushveld Minerals Limited in respect of the competition law matters, including merger control processes, for the highly publicised acquisition by Southern Point Resources from Bushveld Minerals of the Mokopane vanadium mine and the Bushveld Vanchem processing plant.
